Spring Lake answered the bell in a big way Thursday at Grabinski Field, putting its winless 2017 season in the rear-view mirror and rallying past Orchard View with a big second half.
Spring Lake scored 35 unanswered points in the game's final two quarters to down OV, 42-19. The Cardinals jumped out to a 19-7 halftime lead before the Lakers went to work.
Spring Lake quarterback Caleb Montgomery rushed for 158 yards and passed for 99. Orchard View QB Owen Swanson completed 10 of 18 passes for 112 yards.
The Lakers out gained the Cardinals in total yards, 323-232.
